My Favourite Athlete

Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world and was born on the 21st of August 1986. As he grew up in Jamaica he attended Waldensia primary school, from then on he started to show off his sprinting skills. Bolt ran in the annual national primary school competition. At the age of 12 he had become the fastest in the school at the 100 meter sprint.

Bolt comes from a country where reggae music started and I really like reggae music. Did you know that bolt’s first sport was actually cricket. He was a bowler, because he was so tall he tried out athletic sports like running. He was really good at running so he focused on it, but sometimes he would play cricket with his friend’s sometimes.

This year at the 2012 London Olympics Bolt competed in the 100m race and the 200m as well. The funniest thing about him is that whenever he is getting ready to race he was the tallest. He won 6 gold medals in the 2008 olympics and this year’s olympics altogether. Bolt really inspires me because he is the fastest man in the world, I really don’t like running but when I watch him I feel like going to the Olympics.

I wonder if I would run in the Olympics next time?

My School

Learning at school is really hard and REALLY REALLY BORING. Sometimes it would be really fun if we played sport or play online games. My favourite part of school is home time because you can go back home and stay there until the next morning. The cool thing about my school is that we have mini laptops called netbooks. They are really different because netbooks are small but if you compare it to a macbook pro you can really see the difference.

My school gets a lot of visitors that come from all around New Zealand, the reason why they come to our school is because they want to know how we use netbooks and how we treat them like. Sometimes people come to our school just to talk to us and look at us use our netbooks. Soon we will get a new flash laptop which will be much more bigger and the internet will work faster than a netbook.

We do all our school work and home work on our netbooks. The sad thing is that only year 5 students and up are allowed to get one. The first time I got my netbook was last year, it was so cool and I was really excited. When we turned it on for the first time we counted down. A lot of people were really happy and my friends and I were too.

I wonder who I’m going to give my netbook to when I get my new one.

Olympic Games 2012

In the weekends I watched a lot of the Olympic sports mostly the men's racing. This morning I watched Nickolaus Willis race in the 100 meter race. Nick came third place, but at least it wasn't the final. Racing isn't my thing because I am to big and I suit something like shot-put or discus. My favourite Athletic sport is discus because last year I came 1st place.

Harold

Last week my class and I went to harold for the first time this term. For people who don’t know harold, harold is a giraffe which travels to schools around New Zealand and teach them about things that the children don’t know about. I was so excited to see harold because I hadn’t seen him since last year. Harold has a friend which is called Lynn. Lynn helps harold do things, Lynn is like Harold’s mother.

The stuff we learn in harold is things that we should put in our bodies and things we should not. We watched a video that was about a boy called Alex, it was about him making bad and good choices. He made a lot of bad choices in the start, but then he started to make very good choices in the end. I really enjoyed watching the video about Alex.

When we finished watching the video about Alex, we learnt about things that are good for us and bad that we should not use. I was really shocked when Lynn said that there was an Aussie Motorbike rider which drank eight red bull drinks. The Aussie motorbike rider drank so much that his heart stopped pumping. How horrible is that, so little children do never drink energy drinks because you might die or your heart might stop pumping.

I can’t wait to got to harold next year, I wish Harold stayed at our school.
