In 1826 a man who lived in France took the first photograph and his film was made out of metal coated with bitumen. As twelve years passed a man called Jacques Daguerre built a camera. His pictures could be developed with chemicals and used a copper plate coated in silver.
In 1888 an American man called George Eastman improved on a camera and his camera uses a celluloid film.In 1900 a very small box camera called the brownie was invented by Eastman Kodak Company. From 1920 better and more expensive cameras with lenses were made in Germany. Now most of the cameras are now made in Japan.
